On behalf of the faculty members of the Computer Studies program of Fr. Saturnino Urios University, welcome to our web site.

The Computer Studies Program has since promise to offering you high quality education in the field of computing. In our desire to provide you variations of computing fields, we now offer two baccalaureate programs; BS Computer Science and BS Information Technology, and three technical-vocational courses; one-year PC Operations, 2-year Hardware Servicing and 2-year Computer Programming. With such assortment of program choices, this assures you to find an educational path most appropriate for your life ambitions.

The design of each program’s curriculum has been carefully planned to make sure that you will be able to cope with the many subjects to take for six to twelve semesters. The program has also ensured that all students will be given the chance to succeed, hence faculty members are assigned as well, as advisers to guide students in times of their academic difficulties.

To ensure keeping the program quality, the faculty and staff are continously updated through trainings and seminars so to keep abreast with the ever-changing technology. In doing so, this guarantee our graduates of higher chances of employability and likewise satisfaction of his or her future employer.

Overview
The course under the Computer Studies program are designed to be flexible and logical. Some subjects offering across the program can be taken by all students regardles of its major but keeping the major subjects substantive for the specialized computer, information technology and technical areas.
This multidisciplinary scheme will pave the way for students to be ready for any jobs in the technical entry-level and midlevel and likewise management positions within the computing field.
 
Goals & Objectives


The Computer Studies Program aims to produce IT professionals that have the analytical, experimental, and professional skills needed throughout their careers to identify, formulate and solve problems, to address technical, business, societal and ethical aspects of problem solutions; exhibit professional and personal integrity, cultural awareness and ethical behavior in the practive of their profession; posses Filipino and Gospel values and are empowered to catalyze change for the efficiency as they endeavor to become effective team workers.

Thus, the Program aims to:

1. provide a responsive currculum, based on the needs of the society and the fast changing technology, anchored on the Christian and Filipino spirituality to posses the theoritical, practical and professional knowledge and attitude and skill necessary for them to be immediately productive upon entring the work force or advanced study;

2. develop research skills to contribute significantly to the discovery of new knowledge and methods that enhance the theory and practice in the fields of computer science and information technology;

3. contribute in increasing the awareness, enthusiasm, and creativity of students, faculty, administrators and staff to the application of the computing fields;

4. provide services to the community via programmatic offerings, governance and community extension programs;

5. establish and maintain linkages in the community and the world through Information Communication Technology (ICT);

 
Graduates from the Computer Studies program are expected to be able to:


- Apply relevant theory, techniques, languages, and systems in developing computer-related solutions to practical problems;

- Practice appropriate knowledge, concepts, and principles to facilitate the management of change in computer technology;

- Conceptualize and manage the design and implementation of high-quality information systems.

- Design and develop Websites.

- Conduct research and critical analyses in the quest to provide alternatives on the use of technology to facilitate decision-making processes.

- Repair and troubleshoot software and computer hardware related problems.

- Take charge of process documentation of the day-to-day transactions of a business organization.

- Act as resource person, trainer or teacher in formal information technology education and other computer-related programs or courses.

- Develop computer animated software for education, entertainment and other purposes.
