Scholarship Program

In consonance with the Vision and Mission of Father Saturnino Urios University and adherence to the charitable works of mercy, FSUU propels the spirit of benevolence by providing financial assistance to the economically less and deserving students who met the requirements and passed the screening.

The goal is to bring together a freshman class marked not only by its exceptional academic ability but also by a variety of backgrounds, particular interests, accomplishments and aspirations.

The university offers a total number of 27 scholarship grants from government agencies, private corporations, civic organizations, religious organizations, and private individuals. These grants have benefited a number of 900 scholars


Goals

To offer to deserving students the opportunity to experience Christian formation, avail quality education and earn a degree in College through the various educational assistance and scholarship grants.


Objectives

As such, Father Saturnino Urios University Scholarship Program aims itself to:

1. Provide the economically less students, who have achieved scholastic distinction in the primary, secondary and tertiary levels, an education for charity and expect them to finish college and live a quality of life;

2. Encourage the grantees to become primary role models in the concretization of the Core Values of FSUU and be an example of being an ideal Urian;

3. Form the grantees to become effective servant leaders in the campus, respective communities and nation;

4. Encourage the grantees to display excellence in academics especially in their field of specialization and share in the social, economic, political, civic, cultural and religious development of humanity and country;

5. Inspire the grantees to value self-discipline and moral uprightness.

 

General Policy

1. All non-academic grantees funded by Father Saturnino Urios College are entitled to avail one scholarship grant. If eventually he/she will become an academic scholar he/she should make his/her option., however, in case double scholarship takes place, approval of either sponsor are taken into significant consideration;

2. All grantees funded by Father Saturnino Urios University should file a Leave of Absence (LOA) at the Office of the Admissions and Scholarships (OAS) in case he/she intends to waive/defer his/her study grant due to fortuitous event and for any valid reason. LOA is subject to the approval of the President of the school upon the endorsement of the Chairperson of the Scholarship Grant Screening Committee. Failure to file the LOA is counted to the number of years of avail in any case shall be a ground for forfeiture of the scholarship grant.

3. All grantees are guided by the terms and conditions. However, in case of violation of these terms and conditions grantees shall pass a due process before sanction is given.

4. All grantees are entitled to one promissory in case of failure to meet the terms and conditions stipulated in the respective study/scholarship grants;
