IHS - a monogram which stands for the name of jesus. This monogram is mostly identified with the Jesuit society, the congregation Fr. Urios belonged to.
color blue - nobility of character every Urian must forever possess.
cross - mark of a true Urian and sign of Christian principles.
open book - symbol of wisdom and truth.
color green - Saint Joseph, the patron saint of Diocese, the symbol of life and abundance.
river - Agusan River the major passage for all, the road of Fr. Urios.
pomegranate fruits - connotes the City of Butuan.
