As Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) opens Academic Year 2025–2026, the institution announces key academic and administrative appointments to enhance responsiveness to student needs and align with strategic goals.
For Academic Leadership, the University has instituted notable leadership changes:
- Dr. Mark Lennon S. Sitones has been appointed as the first Dean of the newly created Tourism and Hospitality Management Program (THMP). Dr. Sitones, who previously served as Chairperson of the disciplines under this field, brings with him academic leadership experience and a deep understanding of the program’s demands and potential. His appointment marks a critical milestone in strengthening the THMP’s academic identity and its capacity to deliver quality, industry-relevant education.
- Dr. Marcris I. Abuan is named the new Dean of the Teacher Education Program. A long-serving educator, Dr. Abuan was formerly a Science teacher and Chair of the Science Division in the Basic Education Department. She currently serves as Supervising Instructor of the Teacher Education Program and is recognized nationally as a trainer in science education for basic education teachers.
In support of the University’s academic goals, the following administrative appointments have also been made:
- Fr. Fausto James A. Cabungcal will assume the role of Director of the Property and Maintenance Office. With his prior experience as in-charge of Student Services and his current post as Assistant Principal at the Basic Education Department, Fr. Cabungcal brings a comprehensive perspective on institutional support operations. He is expected to lead in maintaining well-functioning, safe, and learner-friendly facilities across all University campuses.
- Mr. Karl Adams C. Soria has been appointed as Director of the Guidance Center. A seasoned Guidance Counselor, Mr. Soria has served the University’s college students in multiple capacities, demonstrating commitment to student well-being and development.
- Ms. Andie Angelika L. Beltran will take on the role of Assistant Principal for Basic Education. Ms. Beltran is currently Chair of the Mathematics Division and has served with distinction as a Mathematics teacher. The Office of the Assistant Principal plays a critical role in ensuring administrative efficiency, student discipline, and the overall quality of the learning environment.
- Ms. Hannah Mae F. Nano has been appointed Secretary to the Office of the President. A former educator, customer account executive, and freelance writer, Ms. Nano brings with her a diverse professional background and strong communication and coordination skills. She will provide crucial support to the President’s Office and contribute to the effective execution of university-wide initiatives.
These appointments reflect the University’s commitment to developing leadership within and to maintaining its organizational setup as dynamic and responsive.
